My journey with alternative health care began 25 years ago, with my entrance into the broad field of Massage Therapy. Massage has always resonated as one of the most natural and effective ways to alleviate tension and relieve sore, stiff muscles & joints. These forms of bodywork date back thousands of years.
I embarked on a new chapter in my practice in 2013 when I began studying and providing Thai Massage Treatments. Now over 60% of my clients prefer Thai over classical Swedish techniques. During a Thai Massage, the client wears stretchy clothes. This form of bodywork is often also referred to as Thai Yoga Massage due to the nature of some of the positions & techniques.
In addition to offering Massage, Exercise/Movement Therapy has also played an important role in the treatments I provide. My passion and dedication towards self-care are highly motivating and fun. Over the past 15 years, I have studied a variety of yoga styles and movement therapies. This has also been an integral part of my own health & wellness strategies. The most recent area of study for me has been DNS, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization. DNS is a Rehabilitative Movement Program. The school that offers the courses is located in Prague, Czech Republic. It is renowned globally for rehabilitating dysfunctional movement patterns, working with such athletes as Roger Federer. My work with DNS started eight years ago and has been an extremely beneficial tool, in my own life and for my clients as well. The foundation and body of this work are based on simple human developmental movement patterns. Simply the way we begin to move at three months old, four months, five, six, up to when we begin to stand. This set of exercises helps to re-educate, re-program and restore healthy movement patterns throughout the body.
It is inspiring to be able to offer and share techniques that help individuals understand their body mechanics better and through this process begin to re-educate & re-program their body's innate, healthy movement patterns. Once this new awareness is experienced, it is often easy to remember, because it makes good sense, and feels right. Taking this information home and integrating it into daily life, is so very beneficial. Moving mindfully & intelligently often prevents silly accidents and injuries. Communication, education & prevention go hand-in-hand.
Allow me to help teach you the skill of listening to the innate intelligence of your body, then I hope to assist you in finding ease and joy with movement. My spacious, bright studio on the second floor, is conveniently located above the locally owned Health Food Store, Herbally Yours. I have had the pleasure of leasing this space for the past 15 years, and it continues to provide a nurturing environment that encourages exploring movement habits and practicing new exercises. Be sure to wear stretchy clothes if you have an interest in these areas. The health benefits of relaxation are phenomenal. Treat yourself today!

My career in Massage Therapy began in 1997 after graduating with honours from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. With over 25 years of experience, I have learned to approach each massage as an opportunity to connect a person with their body more fully and embrace its unique story.

Thai massage has been described as assisted yoga. A series of stretches similar to yoga positions are applied in order to stretch and tone the muscles. The treatment improves circulation, relieves muscle tension and spasm, increases metabolism and boosts the immune system.
Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It is sometimes called classic massage. The techniques aim to promote relaxation by releasing tight muscles and joints which improves tissue health and mobility, Oil or lotion is used to provide a glide on the skin.
